Principal's Message
Dear Ponderosa Families,
We are so fortunate to have our school set in the middle of the beautiful Ponderosa area. The sense of community pride carries into the walls of our school building. We have a strong sense of purpose and feel fortunate to work alongside you as parents in helping all of our students achieve their greatest potential.
Whether you are new to our school community or a veteran Ponderosa parent, we encourage you to get involved. This could be in the form of volunteering in our classrooms, attending our events, reading newsletters, helping with homework, or becoming a member of our PTSA. We greatly appreciate the tremendous support we get from our PTSA and our parent community.
Our dedicated and caring staff is committed to the academic, social, and emotional growth of all of the children we serve. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment that encourages students to take risks and develop a love of learning. We offer opportunities for enrichment inside and outside of the classroom in order to promote higher level thinking and more opportunities for student engagement.
In addition to having high academic expectations for our students, we work hard in helping to create great citizens. We actively participate in Partners Advancing Character Education (PACE), teaching to the monthly character traits and recognizing our students when demonstrating these traits. Check out the character trait of the month in our school and classroom newsletters as well as our reader board.
